Autopilot V2 Upgrade: Air Lift Performance 3P/3H Management

Shop now

Since Air Lift dropped Autopilot V2 at SEMA in 2010, it’s been regarded as one of the most advanced pressure-based systems on the market. This all-new digital system rocked the market for years but is moving aside because Air Lift has released its Performance 3P and 3H management systems in 2015. This past year has been spent refining these systems, instructions/manual, manifold, compressor compatibility, calibration, controller, and features.

How Are They Similar?

The Autopilot V2 and Performance 3P/3H systems both have a number of features that separate these digital systems from their competition. To start, both of these systems have remotes to control bag pressure, and ECU’s capable of saving pressure/height presets. This feature isn’t available on manual systems, which is a huge reason to choose digital systems. Both systems also have integrated manifolds and ECU’s which are easy to install and have a more refined look. These digital systems only require only a few connections to get everything powered, whereas manual systems have a vast number of plumbing to do. One of our favorite features is the rise-on-start. If you have this feature enabled while you’re aired-out and parked, the next time you turn your car on, it will automatically raise up to your first pressure/height preset. This suave add-on impresses both car enthusiasts and the public time and time again.

Why Should I Upgrade From Autopilot V2 To Performance 3P/3H?

In 2010 we were still using flip phones, and some of us had the iPhone 3G. Digital touch screens were just starting to become widespread, and Bluetooth’s only real use was for hands-free phone calls. Keeping this in mind, the introduction of Autopilot V2 was a huge win for the air ride community. Six years later, we have the new Performance 3P/3H system and all of the contemporary luxuries we expect, such as:

  1. Show Mode: Put that Bluetooth to good use - pair your phone with the system and it will act as a remote, save presets, and even allow you to air your car up and down while it’s off.

  2. New and Improved Manifold and Remote: The 3P/3H system uses an improved version of the V2 manifold and a next-level remote. The remote has a crisp LED display, preset buttons, as well as up and down controls for all four corners. You can also even use your phone as a remote through the Air Lift Performance 3 app.

  3. Anti-Cross Loading and Axle Equalization: These features are unique to the Performance 3H system, where it monitors bag pressure and ride height to keep your car level around turns. This proprietary system prevents the car from loading up too much on the bags, which is exceptionally useful for track use.

  4. Powerful 32 Bit Processors: Air Lift has packed an enormous amount of processing power into these systems to keep them running quickly and allow for more updates in the future. This system also writes its own tables and fine-tunes itself to learn your setup.

  5. Accelerometer: The 3P and 3H systems both have an accelerometer built-in and a 45-second safety for making automated adjustments to prevent adjustments from being made prematurely while driving.

I Have Autopilot V2; What’s The Best Way To Upgrade To Performance 3P/3H?

Bag Riders is currently running a promotional campaign to help people upgrade from Autopilot V2 to Performance 3P/3H. We want to see you enjoying the latest and greatest air suspension technology, so we’re offering $400 credit toward the Performance 3P/3H for any Autopilot V2 manifold and controller that’s functioning and in good cosmetic condition, with an untrimmed/uncut wiring harness.

Should I Get Performance 3P Or 3H?

If you’re wondering whether or not to get the pressure or height-based system, you’re in luck. The height-based system has a few more features and has the luxury of being almost entirely automated. It does run a higher price tag than the 3P, so if you get the 3P, they share the same manifold and ECU, so if you’re not ready to commit to 3H, you can add height sensors at any time!
